Newspeak is an archaic term, invented by George Orwell, to prophesy our post-modern linguistic usage, whose fundamental purpose is to control the social and political narrative. One may view the purposes and, to some extent, the form of Newspeak as a likely endpoint for post-modern language. By the time this endpoint is reached, of course, society will be in a process of economic implosion and ultimately degenerate into social chaos. Orwell was not a social economist and could not fully realize the implications of his predictions. Nor could he have predicted the complete infection of society with the entitlement/victim mindset.
