Heterosexism

Heterosexism is the corollary face of the term homophobia. In its widest application, heterosexism is the mindset imputed to anyone who regards heterosexuality as in any sense normative for human populations. More specifically, heterosexism is ascribed to anyone who prefers adopting couples to be heterosexual or regards homosexuals, as such, as inappropriate role models, or the homosexual lifestyle as an inappropriate path for generic character building.

Heterosexism may be imputed to individuals, groups, institutions or cultures.
